How are you feeling today?

You've been feeling strange all week. At first you had trouble sleeping. Then came the headaches. Yesterday your teeth began hurting and your fingernails turn blue for several hours. This morning you realized it was time to call your family doctor when, after a morning jog, your spouse/parent asked if you'd been sprayed by a skunk. The doctor tries to hold her breath as she asks you questions. She nods knowingly as you list off your symptoms. After looking in eyes noting your swollen eardrums, she orders some lab work. A few hours later shall returns to tell you, " just what I suspected--you have an extremely high number of microbes in your liver." "what?" " oh, don't worry. You have a common ailment we call odoramonia. We'll put you on an antibiotic and get eating a balanced diet, and you will be fine."

Aren't doctors amazing? By examining us and noting our symptoms, they're usually able to diagnose our physical ailments and prescribe the proper treatment. God does the same thing in our spiritual realm. By looking at our actions ( or lack of action) God can tell us exactly what attitudes and desires need healing. His Word gives detailed prescriptions for curing the wrong behavior patterns.
Is your spiritual life on the sick side? Are you fighting worldly infections or possibly even the disease of disobedience?
Seek advice from the Great Physician. No matter what your ailment is God's Word has a message just for you.

1 Peter 4:12-14 (New International Version)

Suffering for Being a Christian
12Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. 13But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. 14If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.
