From the Heart

A question for God...

God how do we protect our heart?

Let us take a moment to see what the Word say's about protecting our heart.

Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. Proverbs 4:23

Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God's place in your hearts. 1 John 5:21

Christ will make His home in your heart as you trust in Him. Your roots will grow down into God's love and keep you strong. Eph. 3:17

My child, listen and be wise: Keep your heart on the right course. Proverbs 23: 19

The human heart is the vital organ that pumps blood and oxygenates our bodies. When it doesn't function properly, the body doesn't function properly. Doctors encourage exerise and a nutritious diet to keep our heart fit and healthy. In the Bible, the heart is also considered the center of thought and feeling. It is so important that God cautions us to guard it above all else, because our heart filters everything that happens to us. When we neglect the heart, it becomes filthy and clogged with all kinds of foulness that settles inside - bitterness, rage, impure thoughts. “Garbage in Garbage out” A dirty heart full of junk can no longer tell the good from the harmful and allows hurt and heartache to take the place of God. When we keep our heart pure and clean, allowing God to be in the center of our heart. By doing this it can block the toxins (junk) of sinful desires and thoughts that threaten our spiritual health. So to protect our heart from becoming clogged with sin, we must give our heart to God and allow Him to shield us with the Holy Spirit. Letting God be in center of our heart at all times. The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.

A Divine Promise from God...
God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God.  Matthew 5:8
