COMMISSIONED....

Matthew 28: 18-20

Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." NIV
Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” NLT

When someone is dying or leaving us, his or her last words are very important. I can recall the last words of a special friend of mine, "Don't worry better days are ahead. I will see you on the other side, and I love you." Those words will never be forgotten.

Jesus left the disciples with these last words of instruction: they were under His authority; they were to make more disciples; they were to baptize and teach them to obey Him; He would be with them always.Whereas in previous missions Jesus had sent His disciples only to the Jews (10: 5-6), their mission from now on would be world wide. Jesus is Lord of the earth, and He died for the sins of all those who trust Him, everywhere.

We are to GO-whether it is next door or to another country-and make disciples. This is not an option, but a command to all who call Jesus Lord. All of us are not evangelists, but we have all received gifts that enable us to reach the lost. We must fulfill the great commission as Christ commanded us to do!  As we obey Him, we have this comfort in the knowledge that Jesus is always with us.  So today I want to remind you to GO and reach out to the lost and hurting. There are people all around you that are dying in their sin and going to hell. You have the life jacket, why not throw out to them?
