“Pure in Heart”

1 Peter 1:13-16

We need to take up our cross every day and follow Christ. With that comes a price. We must rid our self’s of self and allow God to have control. There must be a funeral in our lives to walk the talk with a pure heart and be found blameless before Christ. One must be pure in mind, thought and heart.

I would like to encourage you to focus really hard on following Christ. For those of you who have said yes to Christ, let me encourage you to keep on running the race for Christ. I am sure that each one of you has faced the devil this week and may have even fallen down. Stand up and dust yourself off and keep on running for Jesus.

Here five characteristics that you need to apply and live out in your everyday living.

“Pure Heart”

• Pure Mind v.13 = Cleansed / Sin Nature removed

• Prepare your mind for Action: v.13 = A willingness to go

• Obedience v.14 = Faith / Believing in what God has said

• Do not Conform to you evil desire: v.14=Complying to God's desires for yourself 

• Be Holy: v. 15 = Set Apart for God

• A Call to Holy Living: v.16 = giving yourself fully to God / 110%

So then if you decide to, apply and live out the list above which is the making of a “Pure Heart” What you really are doing is that which really equals Christ – Likeness. So then the next time someone ask you what is “Christ- Likeness?” How can one be like Christ? Well now you have the tools, go and be used! Don’t stay in the package like a new tool, but get out and let the Master Carpenter use you. If you are just lying around in tool box collecting rust, then stand up and get out of the box!!

A Future in God

1 Peter 1:13-16

So roll up your sleeves, put your mind in gear, and be totally ready to receive the gift that's coming when Jesus arrives. Don't lazily slip back into those old grooves of evil, doing just what you feel like doing. You didn't know any better than; you do now. As obedient children, let yourselves be pulled into a way of life shaped by God's life, a life energetic and blazing with holiness. God said, "I am holy; you be holy."
