LOOK-ALIKES........

Hosea 9:10

The Lord says, “O Israel, when I first found you,
it was like finding fresh grapes in the desert.
When I saw your ancestors, it was like seeing the first ripe figs of the season! But then they deserted me for Baal-peor, giving themselves to that shameful idol. Soon they became as vile as vile
as the god they worshiped.

INFORMATION FOR YOUR FURTHER STUDY

Baal-peor was the god of Peor, a mountain in Moab. In Numbers 23, Balaam, a prophet, was hired by King Balak of Moab to curse the Israelites. For more information on these gods just follow this link....

Getting back to the review and study of Hosea chapter nine.....

The Moabites enticed the Israelites into sexual sin and Baal worship. Before long, they became as corrupt as the gods they worshiped. The Israelites had all the characteristics of Baal and
no longer did God show in their lives.

People can take on the characteristics of what or whom they love or worship.

What do you worship?

Are you becoming more like Christ, or are you becoming more like someone or something else?

Remember those around you know, so be honest when answering those questions. You could be brave and ask your spouse, or your friends!!

We should becoming more like Christ everyday and less and less like the world! Not like the Israelites, they walked away from God and what happen to them?

Take some time today to reflect over your life. Write out you day from when you get up to when you go to bed. Look it over and see where you stopped to pray, read the Word, opportunities to share your faith and or be an example and failed.

Dear Lord Jesus, I thank you for our families and friends. Thank you for the light of day, the stars and moon at night. Help us to make the most of each day by being a true light in our sinful world.  Help us not to conform to this world but let us allow your Holy Spirit to transform our minds and our hearts to be like you.
I pray you will be close to all those in need. In the name of Jesus. Amen
