God Loves Me This Much....

1 John 4:7-14 NLT

Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.
Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us.
And God has given us his Spirit as proof that we live in him and he in us. Furthermore, we have seen with our own eyes and now testify that the Father sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.

A break down on this passage...for the person who begins to understand God's love has a new outlook toward everything.

1. loving others reflects the nature of God that is in us

2. loving others is evidence that we are God's children

3. we should love because we know what it is like to be loved

4. we should love each other because when we do so we make it possible for God to live in us more fully.

5. we should love because by loving others His love is made complete in us.

Is it true that God is love to me as a Christian?

1. Why do I ever grumble and show discontent and resentment at the circumstances in which God has placed me?

2. Why am I ever distrustful, fearful, or depressed?

3. Why do I ever allow myself to grow cool, formal, and half-hearted in the service of the God who loves me so?

4. Why do I ever allow my loyalties to be divided, so that God has not all my heart?

The person who begins to understand God's love has a new outlook toward everything.
