The Joy of Obedience
-------------------------------------------
Today’s (Saturday) Text Exodus 4:10
"Moses said to the LORD, 'O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.''
------------------------------------------------------------
WORDS OF MINISTRY:
God gave Moses an assignment, but he was reluctant to obey. Instead, he responded with excuses, giving reason after reason why he could not fulfill God's assignment. Finally, he laid aside his excuses, obeyed God, and went to Egypt. As he obeyed, Moses learned that when God gives us an assignment, He'll provide the ability to do it, with all the power and skills we need. This is true for any task, small or great.
Many people are just like Moses-reluctant to obey God, filled with excuses. His assignments may seem difficult or even impossible. Some people may feel unqualified or afraid. They may have different plans. Others may be like Jonah and try to run from God (Jonah 1:1-3).But God wants us to be more like Mary, the mother of Jesus.
When the angel told her she would bear a son, she didn't give excuses or try to escape. Instead, she simply responded, "Let it be to me according to your word" (Luke 1:38). Mary was ready to do God's will, completely and without question. She demonstrated the right response to God: trust Him and obey Him.
What is God saying to you? Do you feel His leading? Is He giving you a burden to go somewhere or do something specific? How are you responding? Do you feel inadequate? Are you reluctant?
Don't let excuses prevent you from fulfilling His call on your life. Don't run away from Him.
Today, commit yourself to obeying God. As you obey, you can be sure He will provide what you need. He can open doors, empower you, and anoint you.
Move forward in faith, committed to obeying His call.
You will find joy in serving Him.
Prayer
Father, I commit my life to fulfilling Your call. I submit my life to You. I am Your servant. Help me to obey and serve You faithfully. In Jesus' name Amen
