God & His Attributes

Today’s Bible Verse: 2 Corinthians 13:14

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you.

Words of Devotion

In this single verse we have, not only each person of the Trinity clearly named, but also each of their distinctive roles in salvation summarized.

It was because of God the Father’s everlasting love that He sent His only Son into the world to take on human flesh, to live sinless in a sin-cursed world, and finally die a horrible death on the cross on behalf of us. It was the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ (not the nails, and definitely not your worth) that kept Him on the cross as His Father poured upon Him an eternity of wrath for the sins of the world. And it is the communion of the Holy Spirit—as He irresistibly and lovingly and transforming takes up residence in our hearts after we invite Him in—that allows us to now enjoy the sanctifying, hope-providing, love-inspiring salvation of God right here and now.

May this grace, this love, this communion be ever with you, ever on your mind, ever influencing your decisions, ever saturating your life’s work.

May your life display the almighty, all-loving, all-sufficient Christ likeness in all you do and say. May the Holy Spirit be your guide and hope and His delight. May you seek after God through prayer and daily reading of His word.
